OPEL REVEALS NEW DESIGN DIRECTION WITH PURE PANEL COCKPIT.

OPEL REVEALS NEW DESIGN DIRECTION WITH UNVEILING OF NEW-GENERATION MOKKA PURE PANEL COCKPIT.

Opel Design Vice President, Mark Adams and his team have released sketches of the interior of the new-generation Mokka, hinting at the daring new interior design direction the Opel brand will take for future models. The new Pure Panel is a high-tech, digital cockpit that is minimalist and uncluttered. The sketches have been revealed ahead of the official unveiling of the new-generation Mokka, scheduled for later this month. The new Mokka will arrive in Ireland in early 2021.

“With the new Mokka, we bring the Opel Pure Panel to our customers for the first time. Large displays seamlessly integrated into one horizontal information format, a minimal number of physical controls and clear detoxed digital information, all together create an optimised customer experience”, said Opel Design Vice President, Mark Adams.

The new Opel Pure Panel removes the need for a multitude of buttons and controls. It provides the latest digital technologies and the most important information for the driver, such as driver safety systems information and the battery range of the new electric Mokka, without any irritating visual stimuli. A minimal number of controls and buttons remain to offer the right balance between digitalisation and intuitive operation of some driver functions, without needing to navigate into sub-menus. The Pure Panel in the Mokka impressively shows how Opel uses innovative technologies to make life easier for customers.

The all-new Mokka is set to enter production in the final quarter of this year, with its arrival in showrooms expected in early 2021. The vehicle will be available from launch with an electric powertrain, together with petrol and diesel engines, a testament to Opel’s commitment to electrifying its entire range by 2024. Unveiled to date only in camouflaged form, the muscular new Mokka clearly hints at a new exterior and interior Opel design philosophy.
