100,000th produced Polestar 2 delivered to Irish customer.

Polestar (PSNY), the Swedish electric performance car brand, marks a special moment in the Irish market with the delivery of the 100,000th produced Polestar 2 to Tony Lanigan from Castleknock. Polestar celebrated the production of the 100,000th car in late 2022.

Tony Lanigan, of CT (Creative Technology) Ireland, leases the special Polestar 2 in Thunder via LeasePlan and comments: “I’m thrilled to be the lucky driver of this special Polestar 2. At CT Ireland, sustainability is very important to us, and we wanted to reflect that in the cars we drive. We want our employees to drive the most sustainable vehicles possible. Transparency is key, and the fact every car comes with a lifecycle analysis and information on all the raw materials that go into Polestar 2, gives us clarity on our footprint.

“I’ve been following the brand for a while now and was impressed by their focus on sustainability, particularly having significantly reduced the carbon footprint of Polestar 2 since going into production. It’s a very intuitive car with a fantastic interface, probably the best I’ve experienced in terms of the current EV landscape, and I’m proud to be part of the Polestar family.”

Production of the landmark Polestar 2 was celebrated with unique decals on the doors, and a design book signed by Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath – which has included in the car handover at the Polestar Space in Sandyford.

Polestar’s focus on premium, high-performance and sustainable electric vehicles has resonated with consumers around the world, and the award-winning fully electric fastback Polestar 2 has quickly become a top choice for EV enthusiasts. Polestar 2, in particular, has been a major contributor to the brand’s success, with its avant-garde Scandinavian design, impressive range, instant response and intuitive technology making it a standout in the EV market.

“We’re excited to have delivered the 100,000th produced Polestar 2, especially since it happened to be a car destined for Ireland and an Irish customer,” says Kieran Campbell, Market Lead for Polestar in Ireland.
