Gaspar Alcaide Appointed as new CUPRA & SEAT Ireland Brand Director.

Gaspar Alcaide has been appointed Brand Director for CUPRA & SEAT Ireland. Gaspar, who joins the team from his role as Regional Manager for Ireland based out of SEAT SA headquarters in Martorell, Spain, brings a wealth of experience drawn from more than a decade working in the automotive industry.

Gaspar joined SEAT in 2012 after extensive international experience in senior commercial and consulting positions across various non-automotive sectors. After successful management roles in Aftersales and Fleet, he moved to the position of Regional Manager for Scandinavian markets where he oversaw the launch of SEAT in Norway.

In 2019, he was appointed Regional Manager for Turkey and Algeria. Since 2020, he has fulfilled the role of Regional Manager for the UK, Netherlands and Ireland, overseeing the launch of the CUPRA brand in all three markets.

Gaspar, who speaks Spanish, German and English, moved to Ireland from Spain earlier this month to initiate the process of handover from Niall Phillips who, following eight years in charge of the CUPRA & SEAT brands in Ireland, has been appointed Director of Group Strategy & Customer Experience for Volkswagen Group Ireland.

Carla Wentzel, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Ireland, said: “I am delighted to welcome Gaspar Alcaide to Ireland.  Gaspar is a hugely experienced leader who was already familiar with the CUPRA & SEAT team here from his previous role as Regional Manager for Ireland. His extensive knowledge of our business and its retail network will prove invaluable in the coming months as he settles into his new role. I would like to thank Niall for his commitment and dedication in building the SEAT and CUPRA brands over the past eight years, and wish him every success in his new role.”

Speaking about his appointment, new CUPRA & SEAT Brand Director, Gaspar Alcaide, said: “I am thrilled to join the CUPRA & SEAT team in Ireland at such an exciting and transformational period in the automotive industry. CUPRA & SEAT have proved hugely popular with Irish motorists, with record sales growth and the expansion of our CUPRA retail network. I am excited to get the opportunity to build on the excellent work of my predecessor Niall who oversaw a period of great success with the CUPRA & SEAT brands here in Ireland. Having established a highly productive and collaborative relationship with CUPRA & SEAT’s Irish networks, I look forward to hitting the ground running in my new role.”
