IRELAND CONGRATULATES BYD VICE-PRESIDENT

A message of congratulations has been sent by Motor Distributors Limited Chief Executive, Paddy Finnegan to BYD Executive Vice-President, Stella Li marking the award ‘World Car Person of the Year’ bestowed upon her by a group of the world’s leading automotive journalists.

Acclaimed by jurors for her ‘exceptional work, vision and drive’, Ms. Li is the first woman to receive the honour. In addition, it marks the first time a Chinese manufacturer has been awarded at the World Car awards. Previous recipients include Formula One design legend Adrian Newey and Toyota boss Akio Toyoda.

Part of the ‘World Car Awards’ celebration, the honour recognises the progress made by the global leader in new-energy vehicles during 2024 under Ms. Li’s guidance. Voted by 96 distinguished automotive journalists from 30 countries, it is presented to individuals who have made ‘a significant contribution to the car industry over the previous calendar year’.

In his congratulations, sent on behalf of the BYD organisation and its dealers in Ireland, Mr. Finnegan expressed what he said were “the wholehearted best wishes and appreciation of BYD personnel and its legion of Irish owners whose faith in BYD is reflected in the market success the brand has achieved since its arrival in Ireland just under two years ago.”
