New Opel Combo-e Cargo Pricing & Equipment announced for the Irish Market.

NEW OPEL COMBO-e CARGO PRICING AND EQUIPMENT ANNOUNCED FOR IRISH MARKET

Opel has announced pricing and equipment for the new Combo-e Cargo light commercial vehicle in Ireland. The 100% electric Opel Combo-e compact van makes no compromises on functionality, comfort or safety. Available in Edition and Sportive trims, the Combo-e boasts a range of up to 275km from a single charge and offers up to 3.3m3 cargo space, 800kg payload and a 750kg towing capacity. Retailing from €34,395 plus delivery, or from €28,000 ex-VAT, the new emissions-free van is now available to order.

For B2B customers, SEAI grants may be available to qualifying businesses. SEAI provides grant supports towards the purchase of N1 category electric vehicles for business and public entities.  N1 category vehicles are typically small goods carrying vans with a technically permissible maximum mass not exceeding 3500kg. A maximum grant of €3,800 is available for qualifying BEV N1 category when purchased commercially. See https://www.seai.ie/business-and-public-sector/ev-for-business/grants-and-supports/ for details.

James Brooks, Managing Director at Opel Ireland, said: “The all-electric Opel Combo-e Cargo continues the expansion of our zero-emission light commercial vehicle offer. The Vivaro-e, just crowned Irish Van of the Year 2022, is already Ireland’s best-selling electric van in an emerging market. Shortly, we will also launch the Movano-e, thus electrifying our entire LCV portfolio.”

The newest addition to Opel’s all-electric LCV portfolio is available in Ireland in two trims. The Edition trim retails from €34,395 plus delivery and includes cruise control with speed limiter, electric parking brake, spare wheel, solid bulkhead, manual air conditioning, front passenger bench seat, folding passenger seat back table tray, DAB radio, touchscreen and 3.5” colour instrument display, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, a left-hand side sliding door and automatic headlamp control.

The Sportive trim, from €36,395 plus delivery, or from €29,627 ex-VAT, gains front fog lamps, rear parking distance sensors, body coloured door handles, body colour front and rear bumpers.

The new Combo-e covers up to 275km on a single charge of its 50kWh lithium-ion battery. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 11.7 seconds, while the electronically controlled maximum speed is 130 km/h; the perfect balance for urban and motorway driving. A sophisticated regenerative braking system further increases efficiency. Customers can “refill” the battery to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes at public charging stations.

The battery with 216 cells and 18 modules is packaged under the floor, so that it does not compromise usage of the cargo area or passenger compartment. In this location, the battery lowers the centre of gravity as well, which benefits cornering and wind stability even when fully loaded, while also contributing to increased driving pleasure.

Opel’s entire light commercial vehicle portfolio will be available in full electric in 2022. By 2024, Opel will offer an electrified version of every passenger car and LCV model. By 2028, Opel will be purely powered by electric in Europe.
