Toyota Ireland celebrates success of ambassadors at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Toyota Ireland, proud sponsors of Paralympics Ireland and global sponsor to the Paralympic and Olympic Games, has extended their congratulations to the entire Irish Paralympic team and their brand ambassadors on their successes to date in the ongoing Tokyo Games.

Toyota Ireland has partnered with Irish athletes Jason Smyth, Ellen Keane, Nicole Turner and Patrick Monahan for the past four years and are proud to have supported them to start their impossible and represent Ireland on the global stage. Jason Smyth, the greatest Paralympic sprinter of all time, won gold in the T13 100m final, retaining his title in the blue riband event and his unbeaten record across the past four Paralympics Games. Ellen Keane also put on a gold medal winning display, placing first in the SB8 100m breaststroke and beating her own personal best time. Swimmer Nicole Turner took home a silver medal in the S6 50m butterfly final, also beating her own personal best time. Patrick Monahan placed in the top 12 of the T54 marathon, finishing in 12th place, four places higher than his Paralympic debut in Rio 2016.

Toyota’s ‘Start Your Impossible’ campaign celebrates the best of human performance and believes in breaking down barriers to mobility to create a more inclusive society. It is a belief perfectly exemplified by the achievements of these incredible Paralympians. Toyota has grown and evolved through the relentless pursuit and development of innovative technology with the power to improve lives, better society and create a safe and secure future for the next generation. Paralympics Ireland’s mission is to lead elite Irish athletes with a disability to Paralympic Games success.

The partnership will advance both organisations’ objectives and bring Toyota’s “Built for a Better World” brand proposition to life by showcasing the positive contribution it makes to life in Ireland. To further support the partnership, Toyota Ireland have raised €5,000 from Paralympics t-shirts that have been sold in Toyota dealerships around Ireland. This additional funding will be donated to Paralympics Ireland.

Commenting on Paralympic Ireland’s success at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Zoe Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications at Toyota Ireland said, ‘At Toyota Ireland, we are immensely proud to be an official partner of Paralympics Ireland since 2017 and to support our ambassadors Jason, Ellen Nicole and Patrick, especially after such a fantastic performance at Tokyo 2020.  We work closely with each of our ambassadors and their families and know the commitments they have made and the dedication they have to their sports ahead of the Games this summer. Each of them truly embodies what Toyota Ireland’s Start Your Impossible Campaign is all about – commitment and ambition to realise your potential.  We look forward to welcoming them home following their incredible successes and to working with them in the future.’
