Left brake light not working

I regularly get a warning on the dash on my 2016 Opel Astra that the rear lights are not working. Each time it is the left rear brake light that is not working. I have replaced the bulb 3 times in the last 2 months, and it has now happened again. When I replace the bulb, it works ok for a while but doesn’t last very long. Am I being sold inferior quality bulbs or is there a bigger issue causing this. Thanks Bradley

Hi Bradley, There is a known fault with the rear lights on Opel Astra’s manufactured between 2016 – 2018, and by the sounds of it, this may be the issue you are having. The issue relates to a faulty connection between the bulb holder and the wiring connector that plugs into it. Opel are aware of this and seem to be covering the cost of the repairs under warranty, provided the mileage is below 100,000 miles / 160,000 km’s. Contact your nearest Opel dealer and tell them the issue you are having and ask if it will be covered under warranty. Best of luck with it. Brian Marked as spam
