MG5 EV ACHIEVES 5 STAR GREEN NCAP RATING

• MG’s electric estate awarded highest Green NCAP assessment rating
• Results include Life Cycle Assessment with MG5 EV receiving Green NCAP’s LCA Award
• Top score achieved the first time that an MG has been through the independent Life Cycle Assessment testing programme.

The MG5 EV has been awarded the maximum five-star rating by Green NCAP, the industry-leading European independent emissions assessment programme. The first model from MG Motor to be assessed by Green NCAP, the MG5 EV’s performance is ranked across three core criteria – Clean Air, Energy Efficiency, and Greenhouse Gas Emissions. An overall score of 95% puts it amongst the top five models tested in 2023. As a fully-electric model, the MG5 EV clearly scores full marks in the exhaust tests, rated 10/10 in Clean Air tests. In terms of Energy Efficiency, the MG5 EV was marked at 9.2/10 with three out of the four efficiency scores ‘good’ – the top ranking – with the fourth only just missing out on the top grade. Finally, the Greenhouse Gases tests brought about a result of 9.5/10, all of which combined saw Green NCAP award the MG5 EV its LCA Award, only the second car tested in 2023 to receive it.

This LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) rating allows drivers to compare cars’ environmental impact from ‘cradle- to-grave’, including the emissions costs in manufacturing, through its life-time usage, and finally to its end- of-life treatment. Green NCAP only awards it to the best-performing LCA-assessed models, and is intended to be a quick and clear way for car buyers to find vehicles with the lowest climate impact over its entire life cycle. MG Motor Ireland is thrilled to unveil the official pricing for the new MG4 EV XPower. Priced from just €42,995, the new MG4 XPOWER model features a highly anticipated dual motor powertrain delivering 435PS and up to 600Nm of torque, firmly positioning the latest MG4 model alongside the most potent high-performance hatchbacks on the market. The MG4 EV XPower features a 64kWh battery delivering a 385km range. The MG4 XPOWER will debut in Irish showrooms this weekend, commencing December 1st, and is now open for orders. The initial customer deliveries are anticipated in the first quarter of 2024.

Additionally, we are excited to share the pricing and specifications for the MG4 EV Extended Range model, a highly capable long-distance EV providing up to 520 kilometres of zero-emissions motoring. The MG4 EV Extended Range is available from just €42,995 and comes equipped with a new 77kWh battery; the Extended Range marks a milestone for MG as its first electric car capable of over 500 kilometres on a single charge. It also allows drivers to recharge from 10-80 per cent in as little as 39 minutes**.

The MG4 EV Extended Range enhances both range and performance with its robust 180kW electric motor, achieving a 0-100km/h time of just 6.5 seconds.
