Positive July for Renault Group now on the Podium with 9.2% market share

July was a successful start to the new registration period for Renault Group bringing the Group to a 3rd place podium position in the market year to date with 9.2% market share.

Renault cars finished in 6th position in the new car market in July with registrations more than doubled and market share at 5.2% versus 3% in July 2022.

Year to date Renault car registrations are up 24% and Renault EV registrations have more than doubled year-to-date versus last year, up over 100% in a market up 65%.

The recently launched All new Megane E-Tech 100% electric finished in 9th position in the electric car market in July and is at number three in the C- Hatch EV segment. All new Austral E-Tech full hybrid had its first peak registration month, with strong customer reaction to the new model and 90% of customers choosing the top-of-the-range trim Esprit Alpine. Designed as a hybrid from the ground up, the distinctive model is powered by the smooth and powerful E-Tech full hybrid 200hp powertrain.  Arkana was the best-selling Renault model in July with 416 cars sold, more than double last July.

In the van market, Renault Group maintains its number two position year to date with a 15.3% market share and registrations up over 240%. Registrations were up 49% in July in a market already up 43%. 

Renault Master is the number one van in the market year-to-date and number one in its segment in July and year to date while Trafic maintained its number one position in its segment year-to-date. All new Kangoo E-Tech is the best-selling electric van in the small van segment in Ireland with new stock at Dealerships now. With a range of 300km WLTP, courtesy of a new 45kWh battery charging is optimised to ensure long journeys are more practical and enjoyable thanks to 75kW DC rapid charging featuring as standard across the board. Meanwhile 22kW AC charging – unique in the market – allows fast charging on both public and commercial 3-phase charging units – allowing a full recharge in as little as 2h30min.

Dacia continues to be the fastest growing brand within the Top 10 with volume growth of over 60% year to date and is firmly positioned in the Top 10 car brands, currently ranked at number eight in the new car market.  Dacia’s market share has increased to 4.2% at end of July year to-date compared to 3.2% in 2022.

Jogger is the number two best-selling 7-seater in Ireland with Sandero the second best selling car in its segment, whilst Duster is ranked number six in the highly competitive C-SUV segment.

Renault will continue to offer its €1,500 electric grant bonus up to the 31st of August enabling customers to retain the benefit of a full €5,000 grant when they buy a Megane E-Tech electric or Zoe E-Tech electric.  With Mobilize Financial Services’ PCP customers can get a brand new Megane E-Tech electric from €249 per month and also avail of exclusive enhanced offers at Renault dealers such a home chargers and trade-in boosters.

Dacia’s flexible finance options will also continue for new registrations up until the end of August  with on-the-road daily prices from just €5 per day for Sandero, €5.50 per day for Stepway, €7.77 for Jogger and €6.50 per day for Duster. Dacia will also continue to offer a Zero Deposit on PCP for all new and existing customers by providing a variety of flexible terms on PCP ranging from 36 to 48-month options.

Mobilize Financial Services (MFS) lent €25 million to customers in July, in line with last year, and MFS is up over €50 million in lending year to date. MFS has financed €9.2 million on 100% electric vehicles in 2023, this is up 60% year to date, with Megane E Tech electric the main driver with over €8 million lent to new Megane customers, with 75% of this PCP agreements. MFS continues to have a 90% new vehicle approval rate with quick response to customers.
